The Academy for Sustainable Communities: Community Partnerships
The Academy for Sustainable Communities: Community Partnerships |
The Academy for Sustainable Communities (the Academy) was established by the Policy for Sustainability Lab of the Faculty of Social Sciences at The University of Hong Kong in 2018 with a vision to become a regional knowledge exchange platform to disseminate knowledge of sustainability and incubate a new generation of change agents for sustainability. The Academy offers curriculum-based courses, seminars, forums and field-based activities covering sustainability-related knowledge and skill sets to change agents and public members locally and in the Region. |
The “Community Partnerships” course is designed to provide basic theoretical foundations and applied skills in building community-based rural-urban partnerships. It looks into contemporary environmental, social and cultural challenges and how they can be managed sustainably through community partnerships and collaborations. It also explores different models of partnerships, tools and strategies that facilitate the successful analysis, design, development, implementation and management of sustainability and community projects. |
