[Call for Course Application] Introduction to Local Ecology 本地生態概覽
(Message from Centre for Civil Society and Governance, The University of Hong Kong)
Academy for Sustainable Communities: Introduction to Local Ecology Although Hong Kong is a highly developed city, the countryside is within easy reach. This small city has a rich diversity of habitats, nurturing a wide range of wildlife species and resources. These valuable ecological environments and biological resources are Hong Kong’s natural treasures, which require us to actively conserve and integrate them into the development of society. Based on professional concepts in ecology, this course leads students to explore various ecological environments and the biodiversity in Hong Kong. Students will learn how to identify wildlife species and conduct ecological surveys and assessments. Local issues in ecological conservation will also be discussed. Environmental conservationists, urban planners, teachers, tourism practitioners and the general public are all welcome to take this course!
