Academy for Sustainable Communities: Introduction to Local Ecology
永續社區學院「本地生態概覽」課程
 

Although Hong Kong is a highly developed city, the countryside is within easy reach. This small city has a rich diversity of habitats, nurturing a wide range of wildlife species and resources. These valuable ecological environments and biological resources are Hong Kong’s natural treasures, which require us to actively conserve and integrate them into the development of society.
香港雖然是一個高度發展的城市，但山林綠野就在咫尺之間。這個小小的城市，擁有極多元的生態環境，孕育出豐富的野生物種及資源。這些難能可貴的生態環境及生物資源，絕對是香港的天然塊寶，需要我們積極保育並融合到社會發展之中。

Based on professional concepts in ecology, this course leads students to explore various ecological environments and the biodiversity in Hong Kong. Students will learn how to identify wildlife species and conduct ecological surveys and assessments. Local issues in ecological conservation will also be discussed.
本課程以專業生態學概念為基礎，帶領學員探索香港不同的生態環境及生物多樣性，學習生物辦認和生態調查方法，並探討各類本地保育議題。

Environmental conservationists, urban planners, teachers, tourism practitioners and the general public are all welcome to take this course!
