Distinguished SDG Lecture — Climate Change: Vulnerability and Adaptation

Distinguished SDG Lecture—Climate Change: Vulnerability and Adaptation

Evidence is clear: the world is facing a climate emergency. In 2010 – 2019, average annual global greenhouse gas emissions reached their highest levels in human history. Against this backdrop, the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) called upon countries to commit to accelerate climate action, forging the Glasgow Climate Pact. As the world grapples with keeping 1.5°C within reach, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Working Group III’s report gives us a reason to opt for optimism: we have the tools and know-how to halve emissions. By having the right policies, infrastructure and technology in place, changes in lifestyles and behaviour would enable us to make strides toward SDG 13 – Climate Action.

Join Mr Grammenos Mastrojeni, our honorable guest from the Union for the Mediterranean, for a stimulating lecture on climate vulnerability and adaptation.
