Geography Teachers Co-learning and Capacity Building Scheme「共學同行地理老師培訓計劃」

Dear HKGA members,

The Hong Kong Geographical Association (HKGA) will be launching the “Geography Teachers Co-learning and Capacity Building Scheme”, specifically designed for early-career geography teachers, from September to December 2026. The scheme aims to enhance the professional capacity of early-career teachers through a series of training workshops and to establish a knowledge-sharing platform. Details of the scheme are as follows:

19 September 2026 to 5 December 2026 (tentative)

Class size

40 (Priority given to teachers with less than 5 years of teaching experience)

Course fee

HKD 450 (For HKGA members: HKD 360)
To be collected after confirmation of enrolment
FREE registration for HKGA membership: http://hkga.org/site/member

Required attendance

80% of course hours. A Certificate of Attendance will be issued to teachers fulfilling the required attendance.

Language

The training workshops will be conducted in Cantonese, with English and/or Chinese reference materials.

  • Mr Alex SU, Geography Teacher, Caritas Chan Chun Ha Field Studies Centre
  • Prof Nicky LAM, Department of Geography, the University of Hong Kong
  • Prof Daphne MAH and research team, Department of Geography, Hong Kong Baptist University

 

Teachers who wish to join the scheme may complete the Google Form through this link (https://forms.gle/o52cWT3KLX4YJLBZ8) or QR code by 7 September 2026. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Teachers who successfully enrol in the program will receive a confirmation notice from HKGA via email by 11 September 2026 and will be informed of the payment methods. For enquiries, please contact HKGA by email at training@hkga.org.
