16th Hong Kong Geography Olympiad (Hong Kong Screening – 1st Round)

Eligibility: Form 4 to Form 6 Hong Kong Secondary School students

Format & Awards

• Exam Format: 60 bilingual multiple-choice questions completed individually in 65 minutes.
• Advancement: High-performing participants advance to the 2nd round written test.
• Awards:
  • School: Champion, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up (calculated from top 4 student scores per school).
  • Individual: Gold, Silver, Bronze, or an e-Certificate of Participation.

International Opportunity

• Top 4 students will represent Hong Kong at the International Geography Olympiad in Jelgava, Latvia (August 2–9, 2027).
• Candidates must be aged 16–19 as of August 1, 2027.

Registration & Payment

• Fee: HK$160 per person.
• Deadline: October 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM (First-come, first-served).
• Payment Methods:
  • Cheque: Payable to Hong Kong Geographical Association (write school and student name on the back). Mail within 3 days to: Dr. Zhang Hongsheng, Room 1007, 10/F, The Jockey Club Tower, HKU.
  • ATM Transfer: HSBC 004-4-033702 (write the school and student name in the remarks). Upload the bank slip to the online form.
  • FPS ID: 160764569 (write the school and student name in the remarks). Upload the payment record to the online form.

Confirmation details will be sent through email by November 30, 2026. Payment receipts will be sent to schools by late January 2027.
